Cold snap rounds off an impressive 2010 with a record high. The latest figures from the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index reveal that shoppers in the UK spent a total of £6.8 billion online during December, equivalent to £111 per person. Sales were up by 7% on November and by 25% on December 2009, with the Index value reaching a record high. Read the full article here.

UK online sales up 12.3% in January compared to the previous year. Online and mail order sales growth fell back in January after picking up in November and December last year, according to the latest BRC–KPMG Retail Sales Monitor. Sellerdeck Survey of Ecommerce Sales Shows SME Sector Remains Strong

in quarter 4 2010 -Christmas sales increase orders by 13% over Q3 2010 -

West Byfleet, Surrey -7th January 2011 -- The quarterly online sales survey conducted by E-Commerce specialist Sellerdeck (www.sellerdeck.co.uk) reports a 12% increase in revenue in the three months to 31st December 2010 when compared to the same quarter in 2009. The Q4 2010 Sellerdeck survey of small and medium businesses selling online, also shows that the average number of orders processed by each merchant increased 10% when compared to Q4 2009. Christmas had a positive impact on the average number of orders processed with 13% more in the fourth quarter when compared to Q3 2010.

UK online shoppers vastly outspend European neighbours. Fresh light is thrown on the size of the UK appetite for online shopping, with the news that internet shoppers in this country spend almost twice as much online as consumers in any other European country.

Over 2,600 transactions set to take place every minute on a Visa card . 5.5% year-on-year growth for Mega Monday online spending.

Today is set to be the busiest ever day for online shopping in the UK, according to analysis by Visa Europe. The payments company expects a total of £265m to be spent online by consumers with their Visa cards, the majority (80%) of which will be spent on debit cards. Year-on-year, total online sales on Visa cards for retailers on Mega Monday are expected to increase by 5.5% in real terms[1]. Read the full article here.
