UK mobile shopping survey reveals opportunities for retailers. Consumers ready for retail marketplace applications, inventory lookup, price analysis and promotions. Sterling Commerce has revealed the findings of a new retail study examining consumer preferences and attitudes surrounding mobile shopping. The study found that consumers use mobile devices to make their cross-channel shopping journey more convenient, with 17 percent of respondents claiming to place orders by phone. Online sales hit three-year high. Internet sales grew in July at their fastest pace since before the recession, as wet weather encouraged home shopping, a survey suggests. Ecommerce Still Growing: Sellerdeck Survey Shows SMEs’ Orders Up 39% and Revenue Up 15% in Q2 2010

Sellerdeck Quarterly Survey of E-Commerce sales for the SME market confirms robustness of online retail

West Byfleet, Surrey -- 21 July 2010 -- Ecommerce software specialist Sellerdeck (www.sellerdeck.co.uk) has completed its first quarterly survey of UK small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which highlights a healthy increase in revenue of 15% in the three months to June 2010 when compared to the same period in 2009. However, e-retailers have had to increase their order volumes substantially by 39% to achieve this growth as the average order value has dropped by 17%.
